Lone Tornado
was given to Hannah Skepper by her mother, Nancy Backhouse,
when he was a yearling. At four years he started competing
and by the time he was six he had won numerous pony club one
day events, hunter trials, dressage and show jumping competitions.
He also was placed in hand and under saddle at County Level.
He was
then competed under BSJA Junior rules and won six consequtive
foxhunters and over £200 in prize money. He qualified
for the Newcomers and Foxhunter regionals two years on the
trot and was competed by both Jane, Johnny and Georgina Skepper.
He was
given a dispensation by the Pony Club to allow him to compete
in the Area Show Jumping teams with which he qualified for
Hickstead.
In an
interlude between Johnny and Georgina competing him he went
racing for one year in 1986. He was only unplaced once out
of 6 starts.
A truly
outstanding competitor and immensely versatile in his career.
He was
used quite lightly at stud but produced excellent part breds
and anglos who now form the background to the stud:-
Heritage
Hurricane - PBA who went Intermediate before a minor accident
and then competed under BSJA rules. He won over £400
under BSJA rules
Heritage Sandstorm - PBA; qualified for HOYS as 15hh WHP.
Numerous winnings at County Level in WHP and won over £300
BSJA
Heritage Chinook - PBA; sold to go show jumping. Won over
£250
Heritage Neptune- AASB; ranked in
the top ten young event stallions by the BHD in 1998 and was
also Graded by The National Stallion Association Performance
Test. For

Heritage Nightshade - AASB;Graded
by The National Stallion Association, only unplaced once in
his first year eventing. As a 6yr old placed 11th CCN* Tweseldown.
