Duchy College Equestrian Centre -

The Equestrian Department based at Stoke Climsland is now thoroughly established with good resources to provide a full range of courses to suit of all types of students. Well qualified staff up to MSc, BSc, BHSI and BHSII levels are complimented by 2 indoor schools, outdoor arena, 3 cross country courses, a 5 horse covered horse walker and stabling for up to 60 horses.

Duchy College is proud to be able to offer daily riding to help you improve. The Equestrian Centre hosts over 50 competitions each year and is the foremost centre in the area. Students are encouraged to not only participate, but organise and help run events as part of their training.

With excellent links to employers in the UK, Europe and worldwide, our students have the opportunity to train and develop skills for employment in the ever expanding equine industry.

 

Courses available at Duchy College -

Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Equine Sports Performance :
Aimed to give students a wide range of academic, personal and transferable skills for effective employment including Event Management, Riding for Schooling and Competition and Sports Horse Nutrition. Mature students are most welcome. Full and part-time options are available.

Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Equine Behaviour and Training :
A unique programme including Horse Behaviour, Horse Health and Therapy, Training and Rehabilitation, and Equine Psychology. Mature students are most welcome. Full and part-time options are available.

BTEC National in Business with Equine Option :
Equivalent to up to 3 A levels but offering students BHS Stages I to III and PTT.

BTEC National Diploma in Horse Studies :
A 2 year academic course equivalent to up to 3 A levels plus all the associated theory and technology along with BHS qualifications. A series of national and international guest speakers and demonstrations provide students with an unique insight into the horse industry.

Advanced National Certificate in the Management of Horses (ANCMH) :
If you are a well motivated person with good riding and interpersonal skills who wishes to work on the practical side i.e. training, teaching, liveries etc.

National Certificate in the Management of Horses (NCMH) :
Introductory course for well motivated students who want a professional career with emphasis on the practical abilities.
