Campus offers newly refurbished student
accommodation for students aged 16 plus (16-18 are
offered a catered-for room package, whilst post
18 choice includes self-catering and en suite study
rooms).

Equine
has grown rapidly in popularity since its
introduction three years ago, and working
and learning with horses is attracting people
from all over Cumbria and beyond. The facilities
are excellent including outdoor and indoor
arenas and cross-country facilities, with
lots of open countryside around the Campus
itself.
A
small cross-country training field is available
for hire and class use. Opened in 2002,
the Indoor Arena is proving very popular
with students and visitors alike, it has
a viewing gallery and a special euro track
gel surface making it ideal for riders of
all ages. (Also available for private hire)

| How
to Get There Penrith is less than two
miles from the Campus and is served by the West
Coast Main Line Railway, and National Express Coaches.
For those living in Cumbria and wishing to study
whilst living at home there are free daily buses
from many places within 30-40 miles including South
Scotland. (Please enquire about pick-up points and
seat availability). Students who own their own transport
will find unlimited parking space. If you're travelling
northbound leave Junction 40 on the M6, southbound
Junction 41. Check the website for detailed directions.

What's
on Offer - Full-Time
First
Diploma - Horse Care
Foundation
course looking at horse care, behaviour, welfare,
preparation and presentation. Progression either
into the world of work or further study (e.g.
National Diploma). There are no formal entry requirements,
but you must be eager to learn in your chosen
subject area.
National
Diploma - Horse Management (Equine Business Management
or Equitation)
Courses
provide a practical and in-depth knowledge of
horse management. Equivalent to 3 A-levels, and
an excellent choice for progression onto Higher
education. Entry requirement is 4 GCSE passes
at C Grade or equivalent. Progression to degree
level is planned from 2005 (Foundation Degree
in Equine Management and BA (Hons) Management
and Equine Leisure* subject to validation).
Foundation Modern Apprentice
Equine
Earn while you learn and work in the industry.
Place currently available for students wishing
to train towards BHS NVQ level 2. Training is
offered one day a week at Cumbria Campus. Accommodation
is available at some placements and a training

Dressage Competitions
Clinics are taken by top international trainers
in Dressage and Show Jumping, and run throughout
the year on Fridays once a month (limited places).
Unaffiliated Dressage Series 5 per year, on Sundays.
