All the attention at the 2001 finals was again focused on the young Brazilian Rodrigo Pessoa. Could he make it four World Titles in a row?

This was always going to be a tough call for the defending champion who had less than ideal preparation. However he was always in contention thruoghout the 3 days of competition and with Great Britain's Michael Whitaker and Switzerlands Markus Fuchs snapping at his heals, the 2001 final proved to be one of the most exciting in the competitions 23 year history.
