Mitavite hits the UK market

When you think of Australia, you might think of glorious weather, the barrier reef and barbeques…but a number of incredible riders come from that part of the world as does Mitavite, one of the world’s largest feed companies.

You may have heard of Mitavite before and that wouldn’t be surprising. The company supports a number of top riders including Team Fredericks, Michael and John Whittaker plus the one and only Mark Todd. It’s only in the past couple of months that they have set up a UK base lead by Cam Price.

Cam has horses and Mitavite in the blood. He has evented up to two star level, his brother Tim Price is one of New Zealand’s leading event riders and his father, Colin, is the sales and marketing manager for Mitavite UK’s parent company, Mitavite Australia

“It’s great to be in the UK as it means I can be immersed in the British equestrian and racing circuit,” says Cam. “We have some brilliant riders who use our products globally, including the legendary Mark Todd, so we are confident that our feeds work. Mitavite is one of the world’s largest equine feed companies and although relatively unknown in the UK at the moment, we don’t think it will be that way for long.”

Mitavite is known for the science it applies to its feeds and the wet steam extrusion process that the company uses to make its products. This is the only one of its kind and was developed specifically for the horse industry. It’s also known for its use of rice bran in feeds, a powerful source of nutrition and something relatively unheard of in the UK.

“Our products are used extensively in the Southern hemisphere, they are available in approximately 24 countries and have been tried, tested and proven at all levels. The European markets are an important part of our growth strategy. We’re looking forward to working with riders in the UK and developing a great relationship.”

Mitavite currently has four feed products in the UK; Power On which is a highly digestible rice extract to help provide cool energy, condition and topline; Cool Performer, a complete feed which is low GI and virtually starch free that provides the horse with cool, sustained energy; Performa 3 Oil which contains Omega 3, 6 and 9 and is has numerous beneficial roles on the horse’s body; and Golden Oldies, a complete feed devised with veteran horses in mind.
