Launched in 2008, NED is now up, running and available
for all users for just £1. From www.nedonline.co.uk
users can search for horses with UK passports, view
their passport details and well as pedigree and performance
details (where known and where supplied), in many
cases viewing full five generation pedigrees and details
of progeny and siblings as well.
If you are thinking of buying a horse, you can check
it’s passport out on NED and if you are selling
a horse, sell it with a NEDLink so that potential
buyers can go straight to its NED record and check
out its credentials, including competition results
and a photo (where relevant).
NED will support sellers and protect buyers as well
as enabling horse owners to go online and “associate”
with their own horses, claiming them and putting them
in their own “stable”.
As the data in NED (verified and supplied by UK studbooks
and competition disciplines) grows, it will provide
an unrivalled service to all horse owners as the only
source of equine identification, performance and pedigree
