Once again the two great dressage riders of the world battled it out for Gold in Hong Kong, at the 2008 Olympics. After Isabell Werth (GER) and Satchmo had posted the best score in the Grand Prix, it was not surprising that she would also come out top in the Grand Prix Special but Anky Van Grunsven (NED) is not the reigning Olympic, World Cup and European Champion for nothing. After Satchmo made an unexpected mistake Germany lost their invincibility to the Netherlands in the 2007 FEI European Championships, so all eyes were on these two teams for the Gold and Silver with the USA, Denmark, Sweden and Great Britain battling for Bronze at the 2008 Olympics in Hong Kong. With only 3 riders allowed in each team, this gave added drama to the competition as no scores could be discarded.

History was made in Hong Kong when the USA defended their Athens team title, winning the first ever jump off for Gold at an Olympic Games, against Canada. "To build a course which causes a jump off for Gold is beyond a dream come true", enthused course designer Leopoldo Palacios. In the individual competition, 10 horses jumped clear in the first round but only two would do the double. Comprehensive highlights of both the team and individual competitions are shown on this DVD.
